Day 01 / Arrive Mumbai.
On arrival at Mumbai international airport, and after clearing customs and immigration, our representative will receive and transfer you to your hotel.
Mumbai was given by Portuguese as dowry to Charles II of England when he married Catherine. The group of seven islands was leased to the East India Company who offered freedom of business and religion to persons who came and settled here. Initially a few Parsis and Gujarati came but soon a sizeable population began to thrive here. This was way back in the 17th century. Today also Mumbai is a city of migrants. People from all over the country have come and settled here. This gives the society of Mumbai multi-lingual and multi-cultural colors

Day 02 / Mumbai – Sightseeing Tour.
After breakfast will go to see the Mumbai Dabbawalas which is world-famous for delivering around two lakh Tiffin’s on time by just 4500 to 5000 men’s by bicycles, trains, and by foot.
DABBAWALA: Dabbawalas literally meaning (“person with a box”), is a person in India, most commonly found in the city of Mumbai, who is employed in a unique service industry whose primary business is collecting the freshly cooked food in lunch boxes from the residences of the office workers (mostly in the suburbs), delivering it to their respective workplaces and returning the empty boxes back to the customer’s residence by using various modes of transport. “Tiffin” is an old-fashioned English word for a light lunch or afternoon snack, and sometimes for the box it is carried in. For this reason, the dabbawalas are sometimes called Tiffin Wallahs.

Further continue to visit Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, formerly known as Victoria Terminus, Crawford Market, Dhobi ghat.
Further, in the steaming hustle and the madness of the city that Mumbai is, there are few locations that are known to have a quieter air. One such place is Khotachiwadi – a small hamlet located in Girgaum, known for its Portuguese-style, colorful houses. A series of old, Portuguese-style houses strewn across narrow lanes and a chapel welcome you to one of the oldest.

Day 03 / Mumbai – Madurai.
After breakfast, transfer to airport to flight to Madurai.
Meet upon arrival at airport and transfer to the hotel for check in.
Late evening witness night ceremony at Shri Meenakshi Temple. This is a ceremony that takes place every evening when the temple bronze of Lord Shiva is carried to the bed chamber of Parvati. The procession is accompanied by religious prayer and temple music.

Day 04 / Madurai – Thekkady.
Drive to Thekkady/Periyar National Park.
Periyar National Park is situated in the hills of the Western Ghats. The center piece of the Park is the 5500-hectare Periyar Lake – a rich habitat for large mammals – providing excellent cover and an abundance of succulent shoots and grasses for grazers. Here it is possible to see large herds of Indian elephant as well as Nilgiri langur. There are more than 30 species of mammals including tiger, gaur (Indian bison) and sloth bear. The birdlife is vibrant and includes numerous aquatic birds and the great Indian hornbill. Game viewing is only allowed by boat rides on the lake
Afternoon visit the plantation area, this region is famous for spices like cardamom, cinnamon, pepper, coffee and tea estates

Day 05 / Thekkady.
After early breakfast proceed for trekking which will be for 2-3 hrs, while trekking you will be crossing some part of core area and some part of buffer area of the Periyar National park, after trek back hotel
Wildlife of Periyar Nature Reserve, Late afternoon experience boat ride on Periyar river, starting at around 3-4 pm, the forests are rich in bird life and arboreal animals like giant squirrel and Nilgiri langur. The boat ride is for about 2-3 hours and one gets a panoramic view of forest-clad hills reflected on the lake. Animals like elephants, gaur and sambar are sighted keeping close to the edges of the lake.

Day 06 / Thekkady – Munnar.
Drive to Munnar.
Early evening nature walk through the plantation or tea testing session or high tea session
Munnar: The town of Munnar situated at an altitude of 1524m in the Western Ghats does not have much to recommend it, but its attraction lies in its access to miles of slopes swathed in tea and panoramic views from the hill tops.

Day 07 / Munnar.
Morning Yoga and Meditation, we will provide morning yoga and meditation session with an experienced yoga practitioner
Afternoon visit a tea plantation and the Tea Museum, to gain an insight into the art of tea making, which is so important in this area.

Day 08 / Munnar – Cochin.
Breakfast and drive to Cochin.
Kochi (colonial name Cochin) is a vibrant city situated on the south-west coast of the Indian peninsula in the breathtakingly scenic and prosperous state of Kerala, hailed as ‘God’s Own Country’. Its strategic importance over the centuries is underlined by the sobriquet Queen of the Arabian Sea.

Day 09 / Cochin.
Morning sightseeing tour of Cochin City visiting Bolghatty Palace, St Francis Church. You will also get to see the iconic Chinese fishing nets (Cheenavala).
Your tour concludes with a visit to Fort Cochin – a small community in itself. Since it is a natural harbor and one of the most important trade centers in south of India, Kochi Fort of Kerala is one of the most important towns in the state. One cansee a unique blend of Dutch and Portuguese influences in Fort Cochin, due to the rulers from these areas having occupied Cochin for many years

Day 10 / Cochin – House Boat.
After breakfast drive to Kottayam embarkation point for houseboat (1.5 hrs), locally called Kettuvallam – Fringing the coast of Kerala and winding far inland is a vast network of lagoons, lakes, rivers and canals. These backwaters represent a unique geographical formation and are the basis of a distinct life style. Travelling the backwaters is one of the highlights of a visit to Kerala.
Rest of the day at leisure / backwater cruising
Just before sunset, houseboat tie up for the night & dinner serve on-board.

Day 11 / House Boat – Cochin Departure.
After breakfast, on time transfer to Cochin airport to connect flight for onward destination.
